The Timberland Company’s In-house Creative Team Signs on to Compete in Iron Design Challenge!
April 8, 2009 - The New Hampshire Creative Club announced today that that Stratham based Timberland Company will send its award winning internal creative team to compete in the NHCC's 2009 Iron Design Challenge to be held at Print Savvy, 55 So. Commercial Street in Manchester, NH on May 19th. The competing creatives will be asked to provide marketing strategy and creative branding to a 'mystery' product or service that will only be unveiled at the start of the event. Only one hour of brainstorming and planning will be allowed before each team must present their plan to the audience, who will judge the winner. Attendees can witness the creative teams in action, while they develop their own original strategy, and vote for the best creative team. Timberland is a team dedicated to supporting a specific industry: rugged outdoor gear and apparel, so working on a product or service unrelated to their regular 9-5 will be a new twist for them.
“Think of it as REVENGE OF THE IN-HOUSE!” says Scott Landry, The Timberland Company’s in-house Senior Copy Manager. “We’re ready to take on the agency elite and prove once and for all where to find the real creative power. Thanks Iron Design.”
The Timberland Company is well known for creating rugged, outdoor-tested, environmentally-conscious gear for men, women and kids. The employees at the company embrace the time that they spend outdoors and they work hard to create things that make that experience better in every way. Landry and his colleagues at Timberland have been the recipients of multiple creative awards and honors, including several Ad Club Hatch Awards and they were honored with awards in the 2003, 2004 and 2006 New Hampshire Creative Club Annual Exhibit Awards, as well as numerous display, exhibit and retail specific accolades—so the competition better get ready!
Steve Bowden, Timberland eCom Designer (and self appointed corporate underling) quips “Ironwood (aka Team Timberland) will bring 30 years of single-client frustration to the table, fear the unleashing! Please keep in mind that there’s nothing we like better than to have friendly drinks bought for us by those we have dominated in battle. “
The Timberland In-House Design Team will join two other creative marketing teams to compete for the Iron Skillet Award. Doors open at 6:00 PM. You can find out more and at www.nhcreativeclub.org.
